Whitney Elizabeth Houston was conceived in a musical family on 9 August 1993, in Newark New Jersey. Whitney is the cousin of daughter to singing superstar Dionne. The Whitney album followed in 1987 and the singles Where Do Broken Hearts GO and I Wanna Dance With Somebody helped to further build upon the success of her debut album. It was, however the 1992 film The Bodyguard that solidified her status as one the world's most popular performers. The movie and her role in it were not very popular, however the soundtrack as well as her version of the song by Dolly Parton I Will Always Love You was a hit for a few months at the top of the charts.
