Jeanie Marie Buss is an American businesswoman. she is the current president and the controlling owner of Los Angeles Lakers in the National Basketball Association. Buss is the daughter of a California native, and was raised by a wealthy family. Jerry Buss' father was a real-estate magnate who later owned the Lakers along with several other companies in the field of sports. Her parents divorced in 1972. split up and she felt emotionally lost. She joined her family's business when she was 19 as general manager for the Los Angeles Strings tennis team. Later, she established her own Los Angeles Blades professional roller hockey team. Before becoming vice president for the Lakers, she served as president of Great Western Forum. Buss took over Lakers ownership Lakers through her father's estate in 2013. Her five siblings took over the franchise through an estate trust. Her duties were assumed as the president of the Los Angeles Lakers. Buss also co-owns Women of Wrestling, a professional organization that has its the headquarters located at Los Angeles.
